ABOUT ME
Görkem Acaroğlu is a multi-artform practitioner. Her work spans performance, installation, painting, writing and media. She has an ongoing interest in the capacity of digital technologies to perform alongside live actors. Görkem's performance works include immersive experiential theatre, site specific and participatory performance as well as interdisciplinary works with digital technologies. She also creates minimalist theatre works with small casts and dynamic scripts through her company, Metanoia Theatre. Görkem was an inaugural Sidney Myer Creative Fellow and was awarded a PhD in 2015 for examining the capacity for technological actors to perform competently with human actors on stage. She has taught tertiary theatre and performance since 2010, and delivers justice and equity training across Australia. Görkem lives in regional Victoria where she paints and writes.
